Hargeisa (Somali Commentator) The late police commander Abdirizak Assayr was laid to rest in Berbera Cemetery on Friday, after a national funeral participated by higher dignitaries including Somaliland’s vice President Abdirahman Saylie.
In his remarks, Somaliland’s vice president said, “This issue was a huge burden to the country as a whole. Such barbaric crimes were once abandoned but anyone who recreates will experience legal measure. “ Speaking about the detention of the culprits, the VP said, “We rejoiced with the fact that perpetrators are in our custody.” Hon. Saylie also sent his heartfelt condolences to the friends, families and the nation as a whole of the death of Late Abdirisak Asayr. “We are here today mourning for Late Abdirisak Asayr. This is part of the monsters we sometimes come across. May Allah rest his soul in eternal peace.”
The chairman of’s Kulmiye party as well as Kulmiye’s candidate Mr Musa Behi expressed his dismay and mourning of the death of captain Asayr who was carrying out his duties while being shot by the murderers. On the other hand, Muse Behi sent his condolences to the nation generally and Asayr’s relatives particularly. “Our reaction demonstrates how serious we are on keeping the territory’s sovereignty, vigilance and stability,” said Ruling Kulmiye’s chairman and presidential candidate.
Other eminent and veteran personalities attended the state funeral who amongst ministers, MPs, party leaders, religious clerics, traditional leaders and civics. The minister of Presidency Mohamoud Hashi said, “Every soul shall taste death, but there are various ways of losing it that Allah had already predestined.”
The Late Asayr was murdered by armed assailants who ambushed Sahil Mountains.
