Burao – Somali Commentator – Former Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Dr Abdi Awdahir has passed away in Burao, following a brief heart attack illness. Late Dr aw Daahir served as Somaliland’s Livestock. He also worked as Labour and Social Affairs for President Silanyo’s administration. He worked under the late Egal Udub’s Party Leader. Later he joined Kulmiye Party which was a strong political party at that time. He left Udub after some internal strife between him and Riyale’s – former president of Somaliland.

For a long time, he has been serving for his nation as an expert surgeon doctor. Prior to his death, he resigned from President Silanyo’s administration after some disagreements. Preparations for a state funeral are underway.

The head of State H.E. Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud Silanyo has sent his heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and the Somaliland nation at large on of the late Dr aw Dahir who passed away in Burao this morning.

Dr aw Daahir will also be noted for his contribution to hospitals – he was a qualified, skilful doctor who managed to cure thousands of Somaliland citizens.

Condolence messages poured in from people belonging to various walks of life.

Similarly, the chairman of the ruling Party Mr Muse Bihi Abdi has sent his heartfelt condolence to the family, friends, and to Somaliland nation at large on the death of late Dr Abdi aw-Daahir. The Chief of Justice Prof Adam Haji Ali has sent the same condolence to and invoked God to rest his soul in eternal peace.

Somaliland’s Vice President on behalf of the citizens wishes to extend his heartful condolences to the bereaved family, friends, and Somaliland people for tragic loss of the legendary doctor Abdi Aw Daahir. “On behalf of all Somalilanders, I wish to express to the people of Somaliland people my deepest condolences and sympathies in the aftermath of the shocking news of the death of Dr Aw Daahir. I was appalled at the loss of such great scholar and doctor,” said Abdirahman Saylie, Somaliland’s Vice President.
