Hargeisa – The Independent – The Minister of Education and Higher Studies of the republic of Somaliland Hon. Abdillahi Ibrahim Habbane has interdicted his Director General Abib Ahmed Ali after being scrutinized by his boss, Abdillahi Dhere. Named by the president, the minister did not put up with the highest pressure exerted by the DG.
According to hadhwanaagnews, Abib Ahmed Ali was charged in opposing daily activities of the Education Ministry and its activities undertaken by the Minister and his vice minsiter Yusuf Osman Garas. The source also adds that the minister’s action is culmination of conflicts. Somaliland’s education minister Abdillahi Ibrahim Habbane also stated that the Director General committal to the paralyzation of educational services across the country.
Yet, the Ministry has not confirmed wether the DG has only been interdicted or suspended from the hiring and firing duties. With participation from educators representing Puntland and South Central Somalia, DG Abib is reported to have objected vehemently, subsequently withdrawing himself and Somaliland team from the workshop.
Abib Ahmed Ali had held similar positions in the ministers of Commerce, Justice and Industry before moving to Education where he has currently been fired by his boss, Abdillahi Ibrahim Habbane.
