President Silanyo greeting traditional leaders in Sool region
Las Anod (Somali Commentator) A delegation led by president Silanyo has paid on a working tour of numerous towns in the east of the country.
President Silanyo becomes the first leader to stay overnight at Las Anod in Somaliland’s history. Embodying patriotism, president Silanyo has showed a move that has depicted in a definite manner. Short of arrival, president Silanyo and his delegation received a warm welcome from mammoth crowds of Las Anod.
Of the Somaliland pacification, president Silanyo also travelled to the frontier region that borders Puntland. This comes while Somaliland appoints the powerful interior ministry to a member hailing from Dhulbahante clan, depicting that the country was one and the same for all Somalilanders, while at the same time going to negotiate Khatumo leader Prof. Galaydh which is slated to happen in Aynabo. This vastly addresses the genuine complaints emanating from Sool and Buhodle regions as per distribution of national posts.
On his way Las Anod, the president sojourned at Adi-adeye and participated in an important pacification meeting for the area whereby he gave a long grandeurs speech that moved the people and entered the journals of the nation’s history.
Fostering solidarity, the incumbent president of Somaliland Ahmed Silanyo urged Las Anod citizens to maintain the peace, stability and tranquility of the region. He, likewise, called the residents to register themselves to be illegible for the forthcoming presidential and parliamentary elections dated on March, 2017.
The President was addressing the audience after visiting many project locations being implemented and those already implemented in the area; most notably the 17 new buildings at the regional hospital.
“It is incumbent upon us to do our duties hence wherever possible we will continue doing so”, pledged the Head of State. At the venue the health minister Hon. Suleiman Issa Hagle-tosiye gave a breakdown of detailed progress made. He said that the SDF program has had 3 million USD allocated for health programs. He noted that the Lasanod hospital which was built during the colonial times by the late Eng. Ali Jirde in 1948 had never seen any facelift in all those decades. He said that the 7 dilapidated building has since been rehabilitated and that 17 new ones were under construction processes. Hon. Hagletosie said that the student’s hall that they were in (venue) were part of a 300,000 (three hundred thousand) USD that the President personally gave.
Since Ahmed Silanyo took the helm of leadership of Somaliland, it is the first time Las Anod receives $7m development funds injected to the region as part of addressing the recurring complaints made by the residents.
