Somali Commentator – According to Hadhwanaagnews, Berbera Port workers demonstrated inside the port of Berbera and defied police calls after DP World cut down their salary scales on Sunday morning.

The aggrieved staff showed their dismay and moaning over DP World as they said it pays a meager salary. The demonstrators burned DP World’s flag and shouted anti-DP World slogans urging the government to force the company undertake the contractual obligation.

After the police vacated the demonstrators, they flocked to the Sahil governor’s office. Reports said live fires where used for the vacation but no injuries have been told to us so far.

The Independent’s editor-in-chief Gulaid Dalha yesterday (Monday) interviewed a worker on condition of anonymity who told him that they will continue the strike until SL government comment on the issue.
