Somali Commentator – Following on his working tour, the president of Somaliland H.E. Ahmed Mohamed Silanyo inspected several sites in Ainabo, Saraar region where seismic vibrators deployed to commence oil exploration in the area.

Briefing the ongoing operations, the minister of Energy and Minerals Eng Hussien Abdi Du’ale said, “Mr President, the companies tasked for the operations are working hard and have so far implemented extensive exploration exercise. We have similarly embarked the task of getting seismic information in the earnest oil exploration.”

President Silanyo who addressed the audiences notably traditional leaders and residents in Ainabo stated the indispensability of oil exploration exercises across Somaliland. The president likewise lauded the Ministry of Energy and its flag bearer Eng Hussien Duale for their endeavors of the project.

In his remarks, President Silanyo said, “Oil exploration have accruable benefits for Somaliland people in general and communities in this area in particular. These projects will immensely boost our national economy and will put us on the peak.”

Despite the tireless efforts on oil explorations, traditional leaders and many other people are yet to confront. Many claim that oil exploration strategies are based on taking the advantage of drought affected people in the eastern regions of Somaliland.

There have been harsh, recurring droughts that have stringently hit in the eastern regions of Somaliland that have left the people destitute.
