Somali Commentator – Following the arrest of Noradin Boys High School deputy head teacher after fending off allegations on impersonating the name of Somaliland’s incumbent president, the head of state warmly invited his namesake at the Presidential Palace in Hargeisa on Saturday.
As ascertained Brigadier General Abdillahi Fadal Iman, the deputy head teacher Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud Silanyo was arrested after transferring Zaad through his e-banking account to a colleague fined to pay some money.
The saga leading the teacher’s arrest was sharing the first three names with the president but surprisingly he is even nicknamed Silanyo.
Nevertheless, the president of Somaliland, Ahmed Silanyo intervened and secured his release from the police custody and received him in the presidency.
The editor-in-chief of The Independent news paper Gulaid Dalha tried to know the issues pertaining the meeting between the two Silanyo’s but due to scanty information, we have only been told that the teacher was recognized as a hero, not neither a culprit nor a villain.
Mr Mahad Ibrahim Mohamed is the proprietor of Noradin schools and the managing director, as well. In a press conference, he reiterated that he has an affidavit that affirms the nickname of the detainee. Mr Mahad similarly said that the police was hasty in the operation.
Mahad Ibrahim has also lauded the chief justice of Somaliland Prof Adam Hagi Ali for his tireless work and diligence on improving Somaliland Judicial System. “I would like to express my sincere gratitude and thanks to the chief Justice of Somaliland Adam Haji Ali and the Somaliland judiciary in general for their overwhelming efforts in improving the justice of the country.”
The managing director also urged the courts and police to drop the lawsuit against the deputy head teacher Ahmed Silanyo.
