United Nations have repeatedly expressed their concerns over the stringent drought that coerced thousands of people to flee from hunger and thirst.

Somali Commentator – Responding the famine and prolonged drought in Somaliland, the special envoy of UN to Somaliland and Somalia Michael Keating has arrived Hargeisa on a two-day working tour to assess the deteriorating situation of the harsh drought that has overwhelmingly stricken to the territory.
Upon his arrival, the president of Somaliland flanked by members of the cabinet welcomed Keating at the Presidency. United Nations have repeatedly expressed their concerns over the stringent drought that coerced thousands of people to flee from hunger and thirst.
During his stay, Mr Keating will also meet with non state actors and local journalists.
According to a video posted by Hadhwanaagnews, the FM of Somaliland Dr Saad Ali Shire expressed his delight to receive Mr Keating and his delegation. Dr Saad stated that the two sides discussed a range of issues pertaining the most appropriate strategies to arrange UN’s relief efforts which is underway. They also discussed bolstering the ties between Somaliland and the United Nations.
